Marine Biology & Ecology
Kennedy Diamond is a Marine Biology and Ecology student at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science, with a minor in Sustainable Business. She has been involved in coral research as a Coral Reproduction Assistant in the Coral Reef Futures Lab, where she has gained hands-on experience in coral spawning, larval rearing, and genetic analysis. Through her participation in the University of Miami's Saltwater Semester, she expanded her research skills by working on population genomics, neurophysiology experiments, and marine species observation. Kennedy has also contributed to conservation efforts as a Mickey Leland Intern with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, where she assisted with bird banding programs, invasive species management, and habitat restoration for threatened species. In the future, Kennedy is eager to continue exploring the intersections between marine science, conservation, and environmental policy.
